It is not late if you start today

You have probably heard people talk about how humanity is waking up or people are more awake. The term "being awake" doesn't refer to being physically awake but spiritually awake. What does "being awake" mean and how can someone be spiritually awake if in essence we are all spiritual?

There are some terms that we need to clearly define that can help us understand what does it mean that humanity is waking up. Someone who is in a state of being awake and aware is conscious. Someone who is aware of what is morally right or wrong, has conscience; and someone who is in a state of understanding and realizing something, has consciousness.

consciousness

When talking about humanity being aware, we are referring to more people being conscious of their existence. Some of the questions people are starting to ask themselves are: why am I in this planet? what is the purpose of my life? and how can I make my life more meaningful? During this awakening process, we realize that life is more than just physically waking up every day, working, eating, having fun and going to sleep at night.

There is something that is transcendent about this journey called life. Something that is more valuable than our physical possessions that will remain in this planet when we die. Something than even when we are no longer in the physical body, still exist. I am talking about our evolved soul.

I recently heard that the problems we see in the world such as wars, deforestation, suicidal bombs, mass shootings, dictatorships, famine, and abuses of all sorts, are just a consequence of humans living without conscience and consciousness. Think about it, if we were aware of what our true essence is and of what is morally right or wrong, the story of the world could be totally different.

There are many things we need to learn in this journey. If we are not conscious of it, we will live and die without making any progress. When we start opening our consciousness, we realize there is something to learn in every experience. We have the opportunity to evolve, to grow, to be better as a person so we can make a better world in which to live.

Start by being conscious of:

  • the food you eat
  • the things you hear and see
  • your actions
  • how much do you take care of your body
  • how are people going to remember you when you are no longer in this planet
  • what things you do for others
  • how much pain do you carry around
  • what things make you angry
  • where do you need to be more patient
  • when was the last time you really listened, etc.

Remember, we are humans and therefore we are not perfect. You can change the things you don't like, you can be a better person if you have the intention to do so. You can start living a more meaningful life by adding more love, more attention, and being more present. It is not late if you start today.
