The purpose of this page is for you to find different options when it comes to finding locally grown, organic*, fresh produce if you live in Houston or surrounding areas and to create community by getting to know farmers and supporting them. I am including information for farmers markets in case you like to get out and explore the wonderful world of farmers markets. Also. there are some options if you rather receive produce at home directly from farmers.
If you don't live in near Houston, you can look for farmers markets around your area. Talk to the farmers to learn more about how they grow their fruits and vegetables. Buying from local farmers allow them to continue the great job of producing nutritious food for us.

Being a volunteer at a community garden has been one of my favorite things to do. Not only you meet new people but you learn so much. You learn how to better take care of the plants, how abundant is nature, how strong you can become and best of all, you get to experience the kindness and love of people.
Volunteering brings more meaning to your life. If you leave in the Houston Greatest Area and want to volunteer in a community garden, there are many opportunities out there.
Most gardens are part of Urban Harvest. Visit https://www.urbanharvest.org/gardens/
