How many times have you asked yourself how good or bad your health will be in the future? This only thought can cause anxiety and depression. We constantly hear from relatives, friends, the media, and our own doctors of the health implications as we get older. We blame age for every new pain we have and for feeling more tired as the years pass. When we forget something, we also blame it on us just getting older. But, is aging the reason for our pains and memory loss, and can we do something about it?
Not only we can do something about it but I think we ought to! Who wants to get older feeling achy, tired, and forgetting precious moments shared with family and friends over the years? This is not really an ideal way to age.
According to Mark Sisson - Author of the Primal Blue Print, "a huge percentage of all doctor visits today are a direct consequence of lifestyle choices that are misaligned with the environmental and survival conditions that shaped our primal genetic makeup". I believe this to be true. Studies have shown that our lifestyle can have a direct impact on our health. When we eat processed foods, are sedentary, live under high stress and lack of sleep, how do we expect our body to be strong and healthy?
When I was going through training to become a health coach, one of my teachers once said that our body can heal itself if we give it a chance. Life should not be a road downhill but a consistent path to stay healthy and strong so we can enjoy life no matter our age.
What are the things you can do to align your body to its natural state? Here are some ideas:
- Move constantly.
- Eat whole foods (fruits, vegetables, meats, etc.)
- Be in contact with nature.
- Sleep at least 7 hrs. every day.
- Learn to relax.
- Stay hydrated.
- Never stop learning new things.
- Listen and read positive things.
