Marinara Sauce

This marinara sauce can be used with zucchini squash in spirals like spaghetti or can be used as the sauce for pizzas. 

Cooking Time

20 min.

Ingredients

  • 4 mid size tomatoes chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1 green onion chopped
  • 2 bay leaves dry
  • 2 springs of fresh thyme
  • 2 springs of fresh oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • olive oil

Directions

  1. Add 1 Tbsp of olive oil in a pan at med high temperature.
  2. Add the tomatoes and let them cook for about 3 minutes before adding the onions, garlic, bay leave, thyme and oregano.
  3. Cover your pan and turn the temperature to low.
  4. Let it cook for 10 more minutes. Press the tomatoes with a wood spoon to help it release the juices. 
  5. Add the tomato sauce and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
